Is the uncircumcised male at a disadvantage in our culture? Why or why not?
The word "circumcision" comes from Latin circum (meaning "around") and cædere (meaning "to cut"). Religiously speaking, circumcision is a commandment, being circumcised symbolizes a covenant with God, and it started with Abraham and passed down from one generation to another. Culturally speaking, Filipinos observe circumcision for every male child. Circumcision is part of our custom, and even child knows it. "Advantages and disadvantages", personally speaking I believe that there are no disadvantages of circumcision except for the pain experienced during the first week. Circumcision poses and advantage because of two reasons; first it is a part of a man's life, it should be experienced by every male child and it's part of our culture and religion, lastly this procedure promotes hygienic purposes.
