As we all know, circumcision had been performed for centuries now. So the question is, is the uncircumcised male at a disadvantage in our culture? Before we answer this question, we should know first what’s the main reason why people undergo or choose to be circumcised.

Traditionally, when a young Filipino boy reaches his adolescent years, he is forced to undergo circumcision. There are two versions of having a circumcision. One is through doctors and the other one, through a manunule. However, both have one purpose-to cut. What are the reasons why parents have their son circumcised? Some parents feel doubtful about the necessity of having it done, but give in to pressure from relatives who think it should be done. Other parents do it for religious reasons. Some parents do it for medical reasons. Others do it because they don't want their son to be different than the other boys. Whatever the reason, this very personal decision that will affect their son for the rest of his life, and every effort should be made to make the right choice for their child.

Whether or not to circumcise is not even an issue in many countries. According to article wrote by M.L. Tan, first of all, circumcision doesn’t make help to make a person taller, , circumcision does not make you more fertile, circumcision doesn't give you a longer penis, Nutrition does not play a significant role, Finally, circumcision doesn't make you a better lover. Viewing it, there’s really no difference between a man circumcised or not. So, what’s the reason for considering them as a disadvantage in our culture? What a man can do to our country is cannot be measured with a single basis, it is if he’s circumcised or not. What our country needs is not someone who only knows how to prove how manly he is, but we need someone who knows how to make this country a better place ti live.
