21st century changed a lot of aspects in our life; with the advent of the current high technologies, everything has been a lot easier for us; communication, doing our household chores, etc. But it also altered our beliefs when it comes to "sex". Today it is very common to watch films with sex and nudity being shown in it. Mass media is one of the factors that made premarital sex, harrassment, and different forms of vulgarity rampant. Mass media can either reinforce norms or offer insights into alternative ways of thinking. According to a certain research , entertainment content depicting sexual norms, stereotypes, double-standards, and sexual roles may have a profound influence on teens’ perceptions about sex, body image, and social norms. Teens often seek social and sexual information from mass media sources rather than their parents or other adults. These teens may be attracted to programs with sexual content. My point of view is that, if this trend continues, one day it is not just the teenagers that we would be worrying about when it comes to pms; school age children would be engaging on it too. I do hope that people behind these would still know that certain people of a certain age still requires limitations when it comes to sex. YES. It is important to teach children about sex education, but we must incorporate it to them in a right way, proper age, and in a suitable place.
